Dress for the Most Monstrous Monster High Doll / Kleid für die bisher monströseste MH Puppe

Well. This doll. 17 inches of Monster High. While generally I quite like the Monster High dolls, and I am really impressed with that one’s range of motion (double-joints!!), I just cannot get over how MASSIVE her head is in proportion to that insectoid body. Yes, I know that the smaller MH girls have similar proportions, but on that scale (1/6) it does not bother me that much.

I have to admit, Gooliope was the first MH doll I thought about selling again at first sight. Boiling straight that rat’s nest of hair, giving it a fabric softener “spa” treatment and putting her in another dress did help some, though.

Standard Raglan Jumper for Lammily Doll / “RVO” für Lammily

As I am currently knitting a very nice, but very “interestingly” constructed pattern, I have a new appreciation for our standard raglan sweaters 😉

Derzeit stricke ich eine sehr interessant konstruierte Anleitung für einen Hoodie, daher habe ich eine ganz neue Wertschätzung für unsere Standard “RVO” (Raglan von oben) Pullover entwickelt 😉

Today a completely different size: Lammiy! Basically, she is a 1/6 doll, but smaller and much stockier than e.g. Barbie. Her figure is… interesting to knit for, even clothes for Makie and/or Hujoo dolls do not fit. The circumference gets closer to MSD size (1/4)

Note: dressing this doll is much easier if you (carefully!) take her hands off.

Heute mal eine ganz andere Größe, nämlich für die Lammily Puppe. Grundlegend eine 1/6er Puppe, ist sie aber doch kleiner und wesentlich stämmiger als Barbie. Sie hat eine… interessante Figur; selbst Makie/Hujoo Kleidung ist ein wenig schmal für sie. Im Umfang müssen wir quasi schon auf MSD (1/4) Größe hochgehen

Anmerkung: Zum Anziehen am besten (vorsichtig!) die Hände abnehmen.

Azone Pure Neemo Romper (also fits Makie, Blythe, and other dolls)

This little summer romper was initially knit for the new Azone Pure Neemo body I bought from a nice collector. (This is one of the old bodies; while it cannot move the knees, they look much nicer in short clothes. Heads will arrive soon for me to play with during my vacation weeks 🙂 )

Mind that you most likely will have to take the hands off to dress your doll.

Browsing some forums, I came upon the information that Azone PN clothes will also fit for Makie! It is a bit fiddly to get on, but yes, it does fit 🙂 (You’ll have to take off the hands,too.)

In argumentum e contrario, it will also fit Blythe dolls, as Blythe clothes will fit Makie dolls. With some minor alterations (longer upper body part), it will also fit the Monster High girls!

Too lazy for “real” cables / zu faul für “echtes” Zopfmuster

The time sharing Obitsu body is lucky enough to receive many clothes, as it is like knitting for another doll once you pop another head on 😉

These jumpers are standard “topdown raglan” sweaters, knit in the round. The cable is a mock cable, basically you knit k2p2 ribbing and cross the knit stitches in every 4-6ths row (knitting the second stitch first, but leaving it on the left hand needle, then knitting the first stitch and slipping these both stitches to the right hand needle). If you knit flat, do that in a right side row!

Der Teilzeit-Obitsu-Körper bekommt derzeit die meisten Klamotten, weil es sich anfühlt, als würde man immer für eine neue Puppe stricken, wenn man einfach den Kopf wechselt 😉

Dieses Zopfmuster ist ein “falsches” Zopfmuster, da die Maschen quasi nur verkreuzt abgestrickt werden. Man strickt 2re2li Rippenmuster und in jeder 4.-6. Reihe wird bei den zwei rechten Maschen jeweils zuerst die 2. Masche auf der linken Nadel gestrickt, aber auf der Nadel belassen, dann die erste, und dann beide auf die rechte Nadel gehoben. Wenn man nicht in Runden strickt, muss dies in einer rechten (=Vorderseiten-)Reihe geschehen!

I am trying to knit some nice thingies up for a friend whose baby is due in July. After much searching, I finally found the PERFECT pattern for baby booties. Knit in the round, without having to break and rejoin the yarn multiple times! 🙂

And after some tweaking, also great for booties for ‘bitsus 😉 (40-60 cm bodies, feet size: 6-6.3 cm length and 2-2.2 cm in width, so they should also fit all BJD with similar sized feet)

What I’ve been up to

I finally got around to giving the two other heads I ordered with the Obitsu48 a faceup 🙂

(… meanwhile I got so used to “Little Odo” that this head will most likely stay blank ^^)

“Repurposed” Dress for Obitsu (40-60 cm)

There once was this dress (free pattern) that was knitted in anticipation of my first Tonner Tyler – and turned out way too wide for her.

However, I was happy to find that it fits great for the larger Obitsu lot! 🙂

Here it is on my Obitsu 60, admittedly a bit short as it was knit for MSD/16” size, but you can see the fit.

On the weekend I decided to “recycle” basic patterns for my Obitsu 40 and 48 cm dolls 🙂

I added an easy little cable in the front, but the basic construction is the same. The dress is “lazy” because this time, I did not scale up with thin yarn, but basically used nearly the same amount of stitches and thicker yarn (ok, not completely the same, but only 8×4 st in circumference = fast dress 😉 )

Wintersocks for Obitsu (48, and similar 1/4 and/or 1/3 dolls)

Today is again all about socks! For dolls, I think I am a sockaholic 😉

These socks fit Obitsu 48 (and 40) and should be okay for BJD with similar foot measurements (6cm length/2.2 cm width)

The basic principle is the same as with the socks for Ellowyne. The heel is a short row heel using shadow wraps.

Elegant Evening Dress for Tonner Tyler / Elegantes Abendkleid für Tonner Tyler

Alas, I completely forget to boast about the nice black dress I made for my Tonner witch 😉

Black Dress at last

Though it looks complicated and the lace pattern surely was a pain to knit, the basic principle on this again was easy.  Top down raglan increase 😉 (I think it was 4×12 st in circumference + 2x 12 st for each sleeve, with fingering weight yarn on 2mm DPN) The sleeves are then put aside. I did not even knit any decrease for the waist, just some rows in garter stitch for the bodice. Increase for the skirt was done with kfb (2x; with one round knit in between) plus/minus enough stitches to get a number you can work a small arrowhead lace pattern with (in the round). Skirt and sleeves were knit not with entirely black yarn, but with black with a gold glimmer. The small arrowhead lace pattern is repeated in the short sleeves. (Yes, SHORT sleeves, because MAN DID I LEARN TO HATE THAT LACE PATTERN ^^”)

Jetzt muss ich doch endlich mal mit dem schwarzen Abendkleid meiner Tonner Hexe angeben 😉 Nachdem sie so lange in bunter Kleidung rumstehen musste. Auch wenn es auf den ersten Blick vielleicht kompliziert aussieht und das Lacemuster eine Qual war, ist das Prinzip des Kleides wieder unser einfaches “vom Kragen an mit Raglanzunahme”-Prinzip. (Ich glaube, es waren 4x 12 M im Umfang + 2×12 M je Ärmel, mit 4-fädiger Sockenwolle). Die Ärmel wurden stillgelegt, damit weiter runterstricken kann. Ich hab nicht einmal eine Abnahme für die Taillie gearbeitet, nur ein paar Runden kraus rechts (li/re Runden im Wechsel). Für den Rock wurden die Maschen 2x verdoppelt (eine Runde rechts dazwischen), plus minus “dreckiger” Zu- oder Abnahmen, um die Maschenzahl für das Lacemuster zu erreichen. Hier habe ich mit einem kleinen Arrowhead-Lacemuster gearbeitet. Der Rock und die Ärmel wurden nicht in ganz schwarz, sondern in schwarz mit Goldglitter gearbeitet. Das Lacemuster wird in den kurzen Ärmeln wiederholt. Kurze Ärmel, weil ich dieses Lacemuster am Ende wirklich gehasst habe und einfach fertig werden wollte 😉
